Another Thanksgiving is upon us. And I wanted to once again express my thanks for all of you who visit Raccoon Toons and enjoy the website. You guys are the coolest. I’ve said it many times before, but it’s worth repeating: I’d be doing this even if no one bothered to look at them. But it sure is nice to have an audience to share it with. Thanks so much.

In today’s comic strip you will see the names of cities and places from where people have visited Raccoon Toons. If you have looked at the website at any point in the last year, the name of your city is listed somewhere in today’s comic strip*. It’s getting harder and harder to fit all the cities and places in, but rest assured, somewhere in that comic strip is a city or place or school that was written into the comic strip for you. For you. You, right there reading this. You’re in here. Somewhere. Thanks.

The places are color coded as done in some of the years past. Cities are black. Schools are red. Businesses are blue. Orange places are special. If you see an orange place, it means there are numerous facebook fans in that place. (Sorry, if you’re the only facebook fan in your city, it won’t be orange. You need to recruit a friend or two. Ready go.)

The places are listed in order of most visits overall. So if you are discouraged that your city doesn’t rank as high as San Francisco, Salt Lake City, or Columbus (these cities seem to duke it out for top metropolitan area ever year…) you just need to visit a little more for next year. And if you do, your city might be closer to the top next time. How’s that for motivation?

If you need a closer look so you can read the names of all the places (and you do, there’s way too many of you this year), click this link for a larger image.

And as always, if you find your city, feel free to tag yourself on our facebook page. (Must “like” Raccoon Toons on facebook to do so.)

You are the greatest. Thanks for visiting. Thanks for reading me.

~Matt

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! And once again, and I truly grateful for so many of you who visit this little site on the internet to read my work and watch my cartoons. It really means a lot to me, and I hope that you always enjoy your visit. Thank you.

As has become tradition over here at Raccoon Toons, today’s comic strip contains the names of cities and locations where Raccoon Toons visitors have visited from since last year. If you have visited the website at all since Nov. of 2011, then your town or city is listed somewhere in today’s comic strip! Because I totally know where you live! Ok not really. But kind of. Keep that in mind when you turn off the lights and crawl into bed tonight. I’m sure you’ll sleep better knowing that.

The locations were taken from my website statistics which only give approximate locations based on your internet service provider.* So once again you may be looking for a city NEAR you. Locations that appear in large text signify places where there are lots of readers and visitors. So if your town has lots of Raccoon Toons fans, then it will appear in larger letters! (That’s great motivation for you to visit the site more often…)

Metro areas that visit Raccoon Toons the MOST appear in orange. Some of those metro areas may still appear in small letters (I’m looking at you Pittsburgh), because while each of these orange metro areas have lots and lots of loyal readers (enough that I had to color it orange), the actual city itself may not have as many visitors as the cities that surround it and comprise its metro area. Most of these metro areas are in the US, but I did the best I could with you fans over there in England and Canada. Sorry if I counted your city in the wrong metro area. I can’t be expected to know geography outside of my own state let alone my own country. Is Salford even a metropolitan area? I have no idea. It is now.

Click here to see a larger version of this comic strip so you can more easily find your city. Think of it like a “Where’s Waldo” or one of those puzzles from “Highlights” magazine.

And if you DO find your city or town, tag yourself on our facebook page! No seriously, do it. Then they’ll wonder what these raccoon cartoons are and they’ll come here and discover all this cartoon goodness. They’ll realize that you’ve been reading these all along and they’ll think you’re even THAT MUCH cooler for discovering the next big thing. You are so rad.

Happy Thanksgiving! And thank you, for visiting and reading my work. I truly appreciate it. It means so much to me. You guys rock.

Thanks for stopping by. Thanks for visiting. Thanks for reading me.

Happy Thanksgiving! And a big “THANK YOU” to all of you readers around the world! Once again I thought it would be fun to include a comic strip recognizing all of you who have stopped by the website in the past year. Thank you for taking time from your busy lives to read a comic strip or two, watch some cartoons, or analyze my blog posts. I made this little world because I have to, but it’s sure nice to have people to share it with. Thank you for stopping by.

Within today’s comic strip you’ll notice the names of cities, schools, and businesses all throughout the world. All of these represent readers who have visited the site in the past year. Places that appear in larger letters signify places with more readers. So the larger the name, the more readers from that place. I also chose to color code it this year, with cities printed in black, schools and universities in red, and places of business in blue (don’t worry, I won’t tell your bosses you’re reading comic strips at work).

The locations were all taken from internet statistics for the site from the past year.* If you’re looking for your city and you can’t seem to find it, be aware that the locations are based on the IP address given to you from your internet service provider. In many cases this will be a larger city in your metropolitan area. (It doesn’t tell me where you live. That would be creepy.) If you want to know for sure what city your internet is currently listed in, just visit this page: http://whatismyipaddress.com/.

If you’re looking for your city or school and want a larger version of the comic strip to look through, you can view it by clicking here. And if you DO find your city, school, or place of business, tag yourself on our facebook page!!
I have a new comic strip coming out on Wednesday, and I’ll be doing once a week updates until after the new year. After that there are some story lines that will come out in a more frequent schedule. In the meantime, stop by and check out Mike Lugaresi’s work over at www.krrobar.com. I am especially fond of his “Mike Bookseller” series.

Happy Thanksgiving! This year I am grateful for YOU! Thank you for visiting! Thank you for reading! And thank you for coming back! Watching my readership grow, and seeing people come back again and again has really meant a lot to me. At times it’s the thing that keeps me going. We all know that there’s little or no money in the life of a cartoonist. I wouldn’t still be doing this if I wasn’t able to see so many loyal readers come back again and again. It means a lot to me, and I am truly grateful.

So this comic strip is for YOU! Written into this strip are the *cities and locations of all of YOU the most loyal readers of Raccoon Toons! Places or locations with bold or larger text represent larger fan bases or [in some cases] extremely loyal fans. Every place listed represents fans with repeated visits to the site. So if you have visited Raccoon Toons with any kind of regularity in the past 7 years (including when the site was called Matt & Michael), then chances are you can find your city or your metropolitan area in the comic strip! (The locations may be broad, so in some cases you might be looking for a city or area near you.) It’s my way of saying that I’ve noticed your loyalty, and while I have no idea who you are, I am truly grateful for your continued readership. Thank you!

If the text is too small for some of you to read you can see a larger version by clicking here. And if you find your town or location in the comic strip and feel like bragging, you can tag yourself in the comic strip on the facebook fan page. (You need to be a facebook user and “like” the fan page first to tag yourself in the comic strip.)

*As outlined in the site’s Privacy Policy the places and locations represented in the comic strip were collected from the site’s logs (a common practice done by most websites). ISPs, IP addresses, and other such information are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.

I’ve been out of town this past week, hence the gap in updates. I already have completed comic strips lined up for Thanksgiving week, so be SURE to come back in a few days. Among them is a thank you to YOU the readers!
