For the record, I have totally beat Super Mario Bros. in under 15 min, using only 1 life. Yup. I have witnesses. It might be one of my proudest accomplishments in life. And that’s really sad.

I’m sure there are a lot of smart people trying to figure out a solution to the massive oil spill in the gulf. But some of the “solutions” attempted seemed…not very ingenious to me. I’d like to think that they seem that way to me because I have no experience dealing with oil spills or environmental issues. Maybe it’s my untrained eye that makes their solutions seem so ridiculous to me. I’d really like to think that…

“Taxes, taxes, beautiful lovely taxes! A-ha! A-ha!”

Ok, so I’m not real big on taxes. I doubt few of us are. But my father was a CPA, so I have to be grateful that we live in a country that has such a confusing tax system, that people can make a career out of doing them for you. Weird, I know. As children, we were always excited on April 15th, because it meant we finally got to see our dad again. He always got really busy as “tax season” approached. April 15th was a bit of a holiday in our household. Several times we’d take a Disneyland vacation the very next day. I’m glad I had a dad who worked hard for his family, but always made time for them as well. I’m also grateful for the many tax refunds that he and my accountants after him were able to get for me. If you haven’t said “thank you” to your accountant lately, do so. They’re pretty awesome people.

Sometimes I stress about decisions. I worry that one wrong decision will lead to a chain reaction that will cause my life to end up completely different than if I had made a different decision earlier on. And that’s the way life is. Because our decisions really do change the outcome of our lives. I suppose what matters is how we feel about the decisions we make. Sometimes it’s really simple to know what is the right and the wrong of every decision. And then there are moments when there are just a host of different possibilities and paths that lay before us, and the decision isn’t based on what is right or wrong, but rather what is better, and what is best. So sometimes I stress about big decisions because I’m afraid I’m somehow missing out on something even better. I’m aiming for bestest.
