This was a fun one to make. And I didn’t even plan it. Sometimes when you’ve written for characters long enough, they start to write themselves. This is one of those strips that the characters wrote themselves. Took me by surprise as well.

But what does it mean?!? Are Michael and Wendy back together? Is the chase finally over? And what about everybody’s favorite delivery man?? So many questions left unanswered… I guess you’ll just have to come back and read my work everyday for the rest of our lives, while throwing money in my direction to support your need for closure. Yeah. That’s a good plan. Let’s go with that.

Ahh, New Years. An excuse for me to stay up late and kiss women. As if I needed an excuse to stay up late and kiss women. Now I just need to find some women who find cartoonists terribly alluring. And then once I do, all that sweet New Years kissin’ will be all mine. Yup. Kiss first, questions later. New Years dictates it. I don’t make the rules. We just all have to follow them. Y’know, like I will be following them. No really. Honest. I’m serious this time.

I really need to get me some of this Mistletoe stuff. All you have to do is stand under it and you’re given a free pass to kissing! How sweet is that?!?! I’ve never really taken advantage of this holiday tradition. Where does one go to purchase this gloriously wondrous plant with magical properties? I’ve never seen it at my local garden store (I say that as if I frequent local garden stores…). Perhaps you have to special order this amazing form of vegetation. You know, like you order movie tickets from Fandango. Only instead of a ticket to another poorly done romantic comedy, you’re getting a one-way ticket to all of kissing-dom. Which, now that I think about it, isn’t all that different from a poorly done romantic comedy…but you get the point.

I need to invest in some of this. I need to keep it with me on hand, ready for any and all emergencies. I’ve played out all the scenarios in my mind in which mistletoe can only be the answer to all the problems in the world. Let’s suppose you’re out on a date, but it isn’t going well:

Guy: Wow you sure look nice tonight!

Girl: You look like an excessively ugly dog.

Guy: You’re really quite beautiful!

Girl: No. Seriously. You repulse me.

Guy: Oh look! Mistletoe!

Girl: Drat! I am now morally obligated to kiss you.

-kiss-

Guy: Let’s get married.

Girl: Fine.

Man that mistletoe is some sweet, sweet, magical goodness. I have got to get me some of that!

04/08/2004 – Sorry I’m a little late putting this strip up. I’m sure there was a really good reason as to why, I just can’t remember what it was… Oh yeah, now I remember.

Anyway, this one’s kind of a “Utah State” comic strip. For those of you who don’t know, a “true Aggie” is one who has stood atop the infamous “A” at the stroke of midnight on certain designated “true Aggie” nights, and kissed another. It’s somewhat of a long standing tradition at Utah State. The “A” can be seen in the background of Friday the 2nd’s comic strip, for those of you who would like a better idea of what it looks like. Anyhow, it’s late and I have much to do.
